Jessica Sumner serves as the Director of Clinical Effectiveness and Stroke Care at Norton Healthcare, bringing more than 30 years of nursing experience.  She holds a nursing diploma, BSN, MSN, and a DNP, and is board certified as an Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist as well as a Certified Emergency Nurse.

Jessica has extensive experience spanning the emergency department, clinical education, and stroke program leadership.  She has been instrumental in developing and sustaining stroke programs and certification efforts.  She is also actively involved in regional stroke improvement initiatives through the Stroke Care Network, the Stroke Consortium of Indiana, and the Stroke Quality Improvement Project of Kentucky.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys traveling, gardening, crafting, reading, and exploring new culinary experiences.  She has been married to her husband, Phil, for 20 years and is the proud pet parent of two beloved fur babies.
