Date & Time of Session - 3/23/26 - from 12:00 - 1:00 PM
Overview
The American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) recently updated its original 2017 guidelines with new literature and research that was released through 2024 for the 2025 ACG inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) guideline update. IBD is a chronic condition that is characterized by repetitive episodes of inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract caused by an abnormal immune response to gut microflora. It includes two primary idiopathic disorders, ulcerative colitis (UC) and Chron’s disease (CD), which differ in their anatomical distribution an depth of bowel involvement.
Hallmark clinical manifestations of IBD include fatigue, weight loss, malnutrition, the presence of mucopurulent blood in stools and diarrhea and abdominal pain. Its unpredictable and relapsing nature makes management challenging. For this reason, there have been increasing usage of multiple advanced targeted therapies.
The purpose of this presentation is to provide healthcare professionals with an updated overview of advanced therapeutic strategies of IBD.
