After this session, participants will be able to:

• Discuss current controversies and recent evidence regarding the true incidence of contrast-associated acute kidney injury in the modern era.
• Identify what works and what does not work to prevent contrast-induced acute kidney injury.
• Explain the role of gadolinium-based contrast agents in causing nephrogenic systemic fibrosis.
