PATHHome RCT: Comparing Telehealth vs Group Care Improving Perinatal Outcomes in Women with SUDS

This presentation was recorded during the live meeting titled "Kentucky Symposium for Maternal and Infant Outcomes" on August 27-28, 2025. If you attended that event and claimed credit you should not claim credit for this module.

Prioritize educating women about the critical challenges they may face postpartum with the same urgency and depth we apply to NAS and relapse prevention. The postpartum period is not just a time of recovery—it’s the most dangerous window for overdose and death among women with substance use histories. In fact, several states report that overdose deaths in the first year after birth account for a staggering 30–50% of the rise in maternal mortality. If we fail to prepare women for this vulnerable period, we are failing them when they need us most.
