Sarah Roof
Sarah Roof has been the executive director of Kentucky Hands & Voices since 2017. She also works for Hands & Voices HQ as the Chapter Support Lead where she assists with supporting the 43 chapters. In 2022, she received a graduate certificate from Gallaudet University in "Supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Infants and Families."
Sarah is passionate about empowering families, connecting DHH children, and strengthening early intervention services. She currently serves as a co-chair of Kentucky’s EHDI Advisory Board and as the vice chair for the Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH). She led the successful passage of Kentucky’s CMV screening legislation in 2022 and is a past recipient of the Hands & Voices Seaver Vision Award (2021).
Sarah and her husband, Steve, have three children, two of whom have hearing loss. She likes to say she has “one who is deaf, one who is hard of hearing, and one who just doesn’t listen.” In her free time, there is a good chance you will find her on a ball field somewhere or cheering on her beloved Kentucky Wildcats.
