"Shifting to a Culture of Well-Being in Academic Medicine"

 Tuesday, December 9, 2025

 12:00 - 1:00pm EST

Presented by: Sarah Herman, MSW - UK Office of Organizational Well-Being

After this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe how workplace culture impacts clinician satisfaction and burnout in healthcare by explaining the connection between workplace culture and individual well-being in healthcare.
  • Identify strategies and initiatives our Office for Organizational Well-Being uses to improve organizational culture and well-being.
  • Evaluate how both individual actions and collective efforts contribute to a healthier workplace by reflecting on ways clinicians and teams can actively support organizational well-being.

As you register and prepare for this presentation, please be thinking about the following questions:

       1. When you think about your daily work, what aspects of your department’s culture most impact your well-being—positively or negatively?

      2. How do you see the connection between organizational systems (like leadership support, communication, or workflows) and clinician burnout or job satisfaction?

      3. What role do you think individuals and teams should play in creating a healthier, more supportive work environment?
