Jared Wilcox, BSc MSc MD PhD FRCSC
Dr. Jared Wilcox is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Wilcox has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders and is fellowship-trained in complex spine surgery, including:
- Minimally invasive spine surgery
- Adult deformity
- Cervical myelopathy
- Spinal cord tumors
- Spinal cord injury
- Degenerative spine disorders
He completed his neurosurgical training at McGill University in Montreal and his scientific training at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Wilcox has a specific interest in endoscopic and minimally invasive surgical applications for spinal pathologies, and he is one of the only surgeons in Kentucky who performs endoscopic spine surgery. As a surgeon scientist at the UK Kentucky Neuroscience Institute, he is developing clinical trial platforms for improved management of traumatic and compressive spinal cord injury.
Along with UK HealthCare’s Dr. Francis Farhadi, Dr. Wilcox is conducting clinical trials for improving recovery following spinal cord injury with initial surgery (NCT06520020) and spinal cord stimulation after injury has occurred (NCT06243211).
