Dr. Kyla Gilbert is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse within the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Kentucky, where she plays a role in the care of patients with complex spine issues. She has a focused experience in spine care dating back to 2015.

She is dual board‑certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2023. In her current role, Dr. Gilbert works closely with Dr. Farhadi in the management of intricate spine disorders, contributing to multidisciplinary care, patient education, and clinical decision‑making.

As the Lead APP for the Spine Advanced Practice Providers, she is dedicated to advancing APP practice, fostering clinical excellence, and enhancing care delivery across the spine service.
