Felicia Horton, MSW, CSW, LPN
Felicia is a highly skilled and compassionate therapist. She obtained her Bachelor's degree
with Honors Magna Cum Laude from Asbury University before pursuing her passion for social work and completing a Master of Science
degree at the University of Kentucky in the field. In addition to her advanced education, Felicia
holds a Diploma in Practical Nursing, which adds a unique perspective to her therapeutic
approach.
With over 17 years of experience as an LPN, Felicia has developed a deep
understanding of healthcare and patient care, which she seamlessly integrates into her therapy
sessions. Prior to joining The Champion Therapy Center, Felicia dedicated more than two
decades to community service, where she actively participates as a volunteer tax-preparer for
the IRS Vita/Ckeep program for an impressive 24 years.
Felicia's commitment to serving her community extends beyond tax preparation, as she
has undergone extensive training with the Citizen's Police Academy of Lexington, Kentucky, the
University of Kentucky Police Department, and The FBI Citizen Academy. This diverse
background gives her a comprehensive perspective on interpersonal dynamics and human
behavior, enabling her to assist her clients holistically.
Adding to her rich personal and professional experiences, Felicia lived abroad in Japan
for nearly three years, where she taught for the Department of Defense School system. This
international exposure has given her a heightened cultural sensitivity and a deep appreciation
for diversity, making her an inclusive and compassionate therapist.
Felicia enjoys engaging in various hobbies and activities outside her professional life.
She is an avid crafter, finding joy in creating and exploring new artistic endeavors. Additionally,
she undeniably loves BBQing, with charcoal being her preferred method. Gardening is another
passion; she takes great pride in nurturing and beautifying her surroundings.
Felicia is also actively involved in her church as an ordained Evangelist. This role allows
her to integrate her faith and values into her therapeutic practice, providing clients with a
supportive and spiritually enriched environment.
Felicia is a proud mother of two adult children, which has endowed her with invaluable
life experiences and insights. She brings warmth, empathy, and understanding to each therapy
session, creating a safe space for clients to explore their challenges, develop coping strategies,
and achieve personal growth.
