Kshitij Thakur, MD, MSc, FACP
Dr. Kshitij Thakur, MD, MSc is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the University of Kentucky, where he specializes in advanced endoscopy and pancreatic diseases. His clinical expertise includes ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, and the management of complex pancreaticobiliary disorders.
Dr. Thakur completed his Internal Medicine residency at Crozer Chester Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy at University of Kentucky. His academic work focuses on pancreatitis, pancreatic disease outcomes, and improving access to specialty care through clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.
In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Thakur is actively involved in community engagement and public health initiatives aimed at improving colorectal cancer awareness and screening across Kentucky. He also mentors trainees and leads several collaborative research projects within the field of pancreatology.
