Date & Time of Session - 9/12/25 - from 12:00 - 1:00PM
Overview
Specialty medications now represent the majority of the drug pipeline, many of which are advanced therapies that require strict temperature control to maintain stability and efficacy. Failures in cold chain management cost the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare systems billions of dollars annually and can directly impact patients through delayed treatment or disease progression. Patient case reports highlight the clinical consequences excursions can have on patients. As specialty pharmacy continues to expand, it is important for pharmacists to understand the cold chain requirements, risks, and best practices to ensure both regulatory compliance and patient safety.
