Date & Time of Session - 9/29/25 - from 12:00 - 1:00 PM
Needs:
The opioid crisis has changed how we think about pain management, making it critical for healthcare providers to learn effective non-opioid alternatives. With opioid-related deaths continuing to rise in the United States, pharmacists and physicians need practical knowledge of different pain relief strategies that work well without the risks of addiction and serious side effects. New developments in pain treatment options and our better understanding of how pain works have given us more tools to help patients. This presentation fills an important gap by covering current guidelines, new therapies in the pipeline, and real-world strategies for managing pain without opioids across different patient groups. The goal is to help healthcare providers improve patient care while being part of the solution to the opioid crisis.
Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
1. Review current non-opioid pain management strategies and their clinical applications.
2. Compare mechanisms of action and efficacy data for established non-opioid analgesics.
3. Evaluate emerging therapies and recent clinical trial data for novel non-opioid pain interventions
4. Discuss interdisciplinary approaches to implementing non-opioid pain management in clinical practice.
