TA-TMA is a life-threatening complication of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation associated with significant morbidity and mortality. The recent introduction of narsoplimab as the first FDA-approved treatment for TA-TMA has altered the treatment landscape and created a need for healthcare professionals to understand the evolving evidence and therapeutic considerations for this condition.
Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
1. Identify risk factors for TA-TMA
2. Explain the clinical course and diagnostic features of TA-TMA
3. Categorize patients with TA-TMA as low-risk and high-risk
4. Correlate the pathophysiology of TA-TMA with therapeutic targets
5. Evaluate the evidence supporting narsoplimab and eculizumab for TA-TMA
