Date & Time of Session - 6/3/26 - from 2:30 - 3:30PM
Overview
In 2025, the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) released updated definitions and evidence-based recommendations for the management of complicated urinary tract infections (cUTIs). As medication experts and key members of the healthcare team, pharmacists play a critical role in optimizing antimicrobial therapy and advancing antimicrobial stewardship efforts. Staying current with evolving guideline recommendations enables pharmacists to improve patient outcomes, minimize resistance, reduce treatment failures, and promote safer, more effective antibiotic use across care settings. This presentation will review key updates from the revised guidelines, examine the evidence supporting these recommendations, and provide clinical opportunities to apply the recommendations in patient cases.
