Dr. Michael Hendricks is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Kentucky and a board-certified child neurologist with particular expertise in pediatric neuromuscular and neurogenetic disorders. His clinical and academic interests also include neurocutaneous disorders, particularly neurofibromatosis and other conditions requiring multidisciplinary neurologic care.

His work in pediatric neuromuscular medicine includes the care of children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, congenital myopathies, and other rare neuromuscular disorders. He has a particular interest in genetic and disease-modifying therapies, including their evolving benefits, risks, and long-term implications for patients with previously untreatable neurologic diseases.

Dr. Hendricks also cares for children with neurofibromatosis, tuberous sclerosis complex, and other neurocutaneous disorders and is involved in efforts to expand multidisciplinary neurocutaneous care at the University of Kentucky. In addition to these areas of focus, his clinical practice encompasses a broad range of child neurology, including epilepsy, headache, and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Dr. Hendricks is actively involved in medical education at the University of Kentucky, teaching medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals in child neurology and neuromuscular medicine.
