Welcome!

As researchers from the University of Kentucky, we are inviting you to participate in training focused on reducing maternal injuries and deaths to pregnant and postpartum women in Kentucky. Violence is the leading cause of maternal deaths in the USA. Kentucky’s maternal mortality rates are our nations’ 2nd highest, thus highlighting Kentucky’s need for greater capacity to address our goal of reducing maternal injury and deaths due to violence.

We are offering CEUs for completing the training our team has developed with the goal of identifying risk factors that healthcare or helping professionals can use to reduce morbidity for pregnant or postpartum women in Kentucky.

We are offering the training at no cost because we have federal grant funding to reduce maternal mortality. The grant goal is to develop and test the effectiveness of this training.

Participating in the evaluation involves reviewing the informed consent, completing a short pre-training survey, completing the assigned training, and completing another short survey about 4 months after the first survey. The training takes about 3-4 hours to complete. For participation, you will receive up to $50.

When you complete the training you will receive the CEUs. If you do not wish to participate in the evaluation you can still receive the CEUs if you complete the training. To receive the full $50 payment you will need to complete the pre and post training surveys as well as the training.

You are being invited to this training because you self-identified or have been identified as a helping professional who is likely to provide direct care for pregnant and postpartum women in Kentucky.
